Question about the loading screen quotes
I just reinstalled this game and started playing it again, so I'm coming into this game a little bit late. My question is, what's up with all the quotes beneath the loading screen? I know there wasn't a campaign, but I missed the last 2 years of the live-service, or whatever DICE had going on. Are these quotes supposed to mean something? Was there any form of story to go along with the multiplayer? If so, where would be a good place I could find it? So far all these quotes are meaningless to me, because I don't have a shred of context to go off of. The only name in he 2042 quotes that I recognize is Irish, but he died in BF4.

Call of Duty has quotes, but they're either real historical quotes or they relate directly to the single player campaign. This game is neither historical, nor has a campaign. Does anyone know anything behind these quotes?

Irish is one of the "specialists" you can play so he's not dead.

Quotes are Dice's way to implement lore into the game. There should be some sort of "codex" in the game somewhere which should explain some stuff but that's about it. There has not been any play-able stuff about the "Dragon" or "Broker", or even the "Oz" so those are just names Dice's throwing into your face in hopes you start to care more about the game

It doesn't really feel like lore when there's nothing to add it to. I'm not trying to bash the game, I'm just curious if there's any "seasonal cutscenes" in this game that add some actual context to these quotes. I'm guessing there aren't any? So far all I get are cryptic quotes about the past that I can't really piece together at all.

No, there isn't. It's just what I said, they throw that "information" into your face without context and think this is how any player will learn more about the lore they haven't even created.

It's a fking joke imo. Complete waste of time and effort
