Dual Sense Isn't Supported
Steam claims that battlefield supports the Dual Sense (PS5) Controller natively but this is false. I still have to use Steam Input. Unless an old battlefield file is still thinking I am using an X-box controller. any advise? I'd like to see proper button promps but if its isnt possible then thats fine. Also let me know if you managed to get the Dual Sense to work properly without using Steam input or external software.

Ran into this today. The funny thing is that it used to work just fine. Used both Ps4 and Ps5 controllers no problem about a year ago. Even used my Dual Sense Edge and had some extra buttons set up. Something now has borked all that. I changed over to steam settings and it wants me to remap all the buttons. Guess i should let dead things die.

steam input works fine if you use the default settings/profile for the game. I was just excited to get playstation prompts but, it was to no avail.

Anybody find any solutions or information yet?

I have the solution to this problem. I had to install and external software to properly uninstall bf2042. JaysTwoCents recently posted a video showcasing the the software 'Revo Uninstaller'. When steam uninstalls something, it doesnt do it properly and leaves a bunch of files behind. Revo Uninstaller removes everything related to the program including registries, files, and folders. When you run Revo Uninstaller it will open steam to run Steam's uninstaller then Revo will scan for anything left behind and remover it. After Revo finished running i just reinstalled BF2042 and everything was fixed.
