Can we talk about the BLACK SCREEN...

It's been reported hundreds of times on the official forum, Reddit and here on Steam...

On the basis that the majority of people are not going to report the issue, and just stop playing the game, or intend to report the issue, but then don't because of how many other reports they see the issue has. It's probably safe to assume this is effecting tens of thousands of players.

Can we just take a moment to let that sink in....

Tens of thousands of players, have a black screen after most (if not every) match, and have to Alt+f4 force close the game and restart it to play again, AND this issue has gone on for OVER FOUR WEEKS, on what's supposed to be a AAA title that was released 2 years ago.

Let me just say that again because of how ridiculous is sounds!

After EVERY MATCH!!!!
To be able to play again

Honestly, how do the people responsible for this still have a job?

How have EA not sacked this entire dev team?

I have never in 30+ years of gaming witnessed this level of sheer incompetence.

The black screen has been a problem since Hardline. No idea how they can keep putting games out with such an egregious issue.

This entire dev team should be sacked and other companies should be warned about employing any of these people, due to the staggering level of negligence and the clear and total lack of any kind of talent or ability.

How they ever got to work for DICE is beyond me, but then the company that DICE has currently devolved to is night and day from what it was back when it was creating Bad Company 2 and BF4

I fixed the black screen issue by Clearing Shader Cache, Verify Files, Clear BF 2042 EA App Cache, and quit after about 12 matches or so. After I starting quitting back to the menu for a few seconds every 12 matches, the black screen has not returned.

heard this is a fix for some but not me. i do all that open up game first match then black. i stuck just restarting game after each match till a fix.

There's a few other possible solutions that people have posted. You could try disable overlays, and possibly DDU. But at this point it's sort of hit or miss if you can fix the issue that ultimately should be addressed by the developers.
