Audio glitching and drop out
Since the new update and the forcing of downloading the new NVIDIA drivers.
I've been getting instances where the audio makes a glitching sound then drops out for up to 15 seconds. If you continue to play, after some time the sound starts sounding distorted, becomes delayed and then if you're on discord everything someone says starts repeating.
If I leave the game after this happens, the issue still applies when using say Youtube or Spotify. However I cannot get the issue to start out of the game. So it makes me think it is initiated by the game or/and the new NVIDIA drivers.

Before the update, everything was going fine with no issues.

Ryzen 5600x
RTX 3070
32gb Ram
Scarlett 2i2 Audio

I've tried, uninstalling the NVIDIA Audio drivers, disabling all non used audio devices, changed power management modes, changed sound bitrate combinations, reinstalled NVIDIA drivers altogether,

Please send help

It was doing this to me and my friend before we updated the Nvidia driver so I don't think it's Nvidia. I actually updated the Nvidia driver later today in hopes that it would solve the audio issues in Battlefield but it didn't.

I had/have the exact same issues as you described. It also continued after I closed Battlefield, and my friend's voice was delayed by 5+ seconds on Discord, and it kept repeating him back to me.

This only started after the Battlefield patch, and I'm currently looking for a fix because it's a bit unbearable.

- I don't have Nvidia audio drivers installed since I use reference monitors and a DAC, so it is something on their end they need to fix.

Exact same issue I have, what are your PC specs? Similar to mine?

Someone in game told me it maybe to do with the extreme high CPU usage issues. My CPU is running at 90-100% constantly.

Hopefully there is a fix soon.

Confirming the issue.
I have 5600x and rubix 24 dac.
Having audio dropouts every 3-5 mins for 1-2 seconds, some of the ingame sounds(like defibrillator sound, reloading sond) also missing for some time after dropout. Other than this everything works fine after closing game etc.
Nvidia driver update did not solved the issue.

If you have an external audio interface,
try increasing the Buffer Size to 1024 or 512,
this worked in my case.

Same issue as well

Didn't work for me. However when I change Buffer size during the issue, it fixes it until it happens again. It's like my audio interface needs to restart

4090, 13900k, 64gb DDR5, Windows 11 Pro, Scarlette Focusrite 2i2 Gen 3 DAC for audio. Everything is most up to date possible. It's something they have to fix on their end for sure.

You have such hardware and playing bf2042? Such a waste of time....

I have Scarlet Focusrite 2i2 Gen 3 DAC also, I think it is something to do with this and the game together. I could fix the problem temporarily by changing bit rate when the problem is actually happening. I think the only people affected have external DAC and not onboard sound.

Same issue here with Scarlet 2i2 , found any solution ?

I have a similar problem on m-audio 192/4, or rather I only have the microphone turned off. I notice this because my friends stop hearing me in the discord. It only helps to switch the device in the list of microphones, but not for a long time

[SOLUTION/WORKAROUND]

I found that this is an issue with BF2042 new update and external DAC/Soundcard.
If you change to onboard Audio it fixes the issue and is playable!

Make sure it's not reverting back to a lower settings in the Scarlett Device Settings.
Some software change the Buffer Size on their own.

Under Windows settings / System / Sound.
Open More Sound Settings at the bottom of the page.
Double click Speakers (your playback device).
Under Advanced, uncheck "Allow application to take exclusive control of the device".

This worked for me, for now at least..
