Hit Reg question
I was wondering if anyone was having noticeable problems with hit registration. I think I might be, but then again I have mediocre aim to begin with. I just want to know if its just me or if it is a problem.

I have good aim. My KD is 3.26.
And my hitreg is also bad. Not to the point that im dying every time because of that, but usually every second to third fight 10-15% of my bullets go trough enemy.
No packet loss. 72 ping.
Same issue in other games, the only one game where i had good hitreg was CS:GO (rest in peace).
BF2042 servers are mostly Amazon and Microsoft. Amazon provide 1 cluster per lobby based on 1 2.0ghz core\200mb ram. This is already not that good amount of performance,it could work for racing\football or any casual games, but not for large scale 128 players FPS game where every shot have to be accaunted.
The issue also getting worse considering an average player outside Europe. Connection is multihop - meaning it goes from you to game server trough various devices (switches\edges\maybe even radio bridge) more distance = more buffer bloat\ping\potential packet loss etc.
Maybe for those who live somewhere in the middle of Germany hitreg is good, but basically these cheap amazon servers are sucks for everyone with 40+ ping.

Depends on the gun used, how you shoot and honestly about the connection too. Feels a bit random at times.

hit reg is fine, soon after release it went a bit funny I had a couple of instances when bullets did nothing but no big deal though, the issue was raised and fixed. if you lag then you will loose more fights, there's connection & input lag to consider. . don't go crazy by modifying the Windows registry though, I did and had lower input lag for a while but then the system started breaking down, it killed a CPU & a GPU

You have 0 clue about what you talking.
No. Hitreg in BF2042 is not fine. If it works for you good - it doesnt means it will work good for everyone.

You must have noticed that it takes you 1 to 2 seconds to kill a player, but the opponent only 0.5 seconds.

From your opponent's perspective, you only need 0.5 seconds and he needs 1 to 2 seconds for a kil.

You have probably also noticed that you take the bullets when you are already behind cover after sliding.

From your opponent's perspective, you are still in front of the cover and the bullets hit properly.

There are many more examples...

Anyway, it's not because the TTK is too low, but rather because of the slow calculation time of the servers. What is already over for the opponent is only just happening for you.

In the worst case, you are already dead for the opponent before you even notice the damage.

You just explained a ping difference and lack of proper network lag compensation.
The hitreg is absolutely different side, altrough its still server performance related.
A lack of good hitreg is simply when your bullets doesnt connect to enemy or deal no damage.

Hitreg is big trash in this game but where is real problem... servers? connection? netcode?

and gunfights with console players are worster. Just turn on graphs and see how much HITS aren't counted on S HITS. With PC enemy its situation 50/50 but with console is catastrophic. They don't move but aren't hittable.

Or create a SOLO game and difference is extreme and not only in hitmarkers but feel from recoil in my opinion is too different.
