EA-made Kernel level anticheat? Are you kidding me?
With the announcement that they are moving to a kernel level anticheat today, I can definitely say I'm going to be uninstalling the game now. EA couldn't even handle their origin to EA Desktop App migration correctly without causing issues, so I don't think I'm ready to trust their in-house engineers to attach their kernel mode driver separately from my OS, with more permissions than you can have on your own computer. In a worst case scenario, one screw up on their end could brick peoples' hardware, that's much less bearable than the software errors we get with their native apps.

Edit: I feel like some of you don't quite understand my issue with this. Firstly, I haven't encountered a cheater in a while, idrc about something I encounter once for every ~20 matches or so because there's no penalty for leaving basically. Second, my issue isn't that we are getting a kernel level anticheat. I know EAC is kernel, my issue is EA is now developing their own in-house kernel anticheat that is not publicly tested, and they don't have the level of reliability and industry reputation that EAC and Epic as a whole has in terms of delivery. Plainly put, I don't trust EA to make good decisions, and they have a track record that supports my belief there.

Oh no ...
Got a link.
If this is true I'm uninstalling for at least a period of time and let them Guinea Pig others for a while and MAYBE, (probably not) reinstall.
OP's right I don't trust them either and they probably will brick some systems while they learn on the job.

I'll go one better, what is someone that creates the cheats figures out a way to high-jack or piggyback through their Kernel level whatever into a system.

It's a never ending war between them and we are the collateral damage.

Post a link if you got it, I'm on the hunt for one now.

Grant third-party software root access to the operating system? It's a clear No for me. Is this the best they can do? Hack the user's computer to control what moves in their guts?.

More and more I like single-player games to avoid all this ♥♥♥♥.

Hey, thanks for the heads up OP.
For once, this forum served the purpose intended as opposed to the kiddies arguing over COD vs BF.

EAC is also a kernal level anti-cheat. I don't see you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about that.

Lol finally I won't suck on the battle field... well maybe suck less. Be interesting to see in a couple of years when they release a personal anticheat system... with a EA employee standing in the corner of my room hitting me with a stick when I do something wrong.

EAC is also well known and used across the industry, my issue is that this is being implemented by EA to replace EAC. EA, being known for poor implementations and shoddy business tactics, as well as often failing to adequately address the community. I'm not very confident that EA will be able to put this out without issues. I know EAC is kernel level, Epic also does not have a poor release record of new software or games, so as far as I'm concerned, EA is stepping to a level I'm not quite comfortable with when it comes to them. I'll edit the post title since I realize that can be a bit misleading that my problem is the kernel access, when my problem is it is EA with kernel access

Atleast they hired 3rd parties monitoring for it, better than in house monitoring
It will be a wait and see

I find it hard to believe that you know what you are talking about.

Do we really have to spell out why we don't trust the company that failed (twice) to build a semi-decent launcher with an history of laziness, incompetence and greed to make a kernel level anti-cheat that will not fail horribly on arrival or allow people with basic coding skill to turn it into an easy RCE kit?
