you do realise theres helicopter and ammo crate xp farms right? so why should progression on portalgames with ai enables even matter
Between 05:00-07:00 CET every day on official servers, most players is usually AI to fill matches and you get full XP.
In portal.
If AI matches is set to PvP instead of PvE, you can farm weekly missions in 128 player matches for example. There is usually only 2-3 humans on each team, and there is over 100 AI. XP is restricted.
DICE made it possible to farm weeklies in portal earlier this year.
IN a way, FPS multiplayer with no story and a few maps rather than multiple levels is easier and is sort of like player generated content. No bots, no mobs, players fight each otherplayers do their fan art and fan stories, company sits back and makes money. It might be the norm now but it is nothing new. Used to be SoE ran Everquest MMO in a similiar fashion, forcing people into big guilds to consume content. Did you prefer solo play? Tough luck. Here are 1-4 mobs for TEN WHOLE LEVELS and you must kite kill them. Other wise you will only be able to kill one every 15-20 minutes if you can kill them at all. Have a nice day. 0.o;;;;
I get a kick out of when I call for ammo and I see a bot rappel up a rope and dump an ammo box at my feet.Love it.
For me, the issue isn't the lack of bots, it's earning xp if you want to co-op/solo instead of multiplayer. You also don't earn the progress to unlock skins past a certain point in single player either. For example on one of the assault classes you need to get 1200 kills above the enemy. Doesn't sound like a big deal but I am at like 670 or something and might manage 5-6 roughly , it varies per match if I'm lucky.That is just for one of the what 12 operators so as you can see how many players are actually ever gonna get even 1/4 of those skins before they quit BF 2042?. I guess not a lot.
All I am saying is that if their was the ability to play co-op/single player on hard bots and make progress towards skins and other medals it would be a good thing.
Skins don't disadvantage anyone and I agree that it's fun to chill out like you did with HALO and just blast the bots to kingdom come right? Relaxing rather than the constant intensity of multiplayer - especially when some people are using hacks clearly.Like aim bots on aircraft etc.
I think it was more of an issue at launch when it came to unlocking other weapons and such.
