EA games require their own launcher because player stats for games like Battlefield are stored on the players profile.
It's the same reason other games use their own launcher on top of steam, Rockstar social club for GTAV / red dead redemption 2.
Ubisoft connect for games like Watchdogs.
It's just a "thing" nowadays and it's not going to change anytime soon, If at all.
its not that simple while i dont give a ♥♥♥♥ about EA and what so ever data is not that easy becouse if they dont use there own launcer STEAM collects the data and then have to give it to EA and maybe they dont get all the DATA they need
Data can even be corrupted or so on to use difrent programs so actualy having there own launcer is better for that reason
While i dont like useing EA launcer and so on i have use it for years becouse of battlefield never been on STEAM anymore its nice to see it back on steam though but if you think its so easy to do this then please be my guest and show us all how to store data in a more easy way ?
if you buy this game on steam you don't need to install origin or ea play.
No, a program is always a program, they are exactly the same thing, call it launcher or platform, in essence its still just a program..how you can see a difference is weird.
The only difference per say is that a platform always needs to be open during gameplay while a launcher do not, so i guess its people with potato PC that cries about 200mb extra ram usage.
You will ALWAYS have to use EA launcher for an EA game, why this pisses people off is beyond me but its cool to hate on EA so i guess thats why.
1. You will need to use the EA launcher regardless of how you feel about it.
2. Previous games ( Bad Company 2 etc ) were released at a time where Storefront launchers ( EA / Origin etc ) were not a mandatory requirement, Times have changed, It is time you get used to this as a lot of game companies have their own launchers..
See..
• Rockstar Launcher
• Ubisoft Connect
• Call of duty's own launcher which then downloads the game from within that launcher ( Battle.net )
• EA App
• Epic Games Store
• GOG Galaxy
• Xbox App
• Amazon Games
• itch.io
I hope this helps.
