Running on an Ryzen 5 3400G
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qjqyHtS0-c
The abnormal high CPU usage I would wager, Alongside other issues that occur as a result of CPU's being hammered to 100% usage such as delayed inputs and so on.
Battlefield 2042 is no exception
100% utilisation means the game is FULLY utilising the CPU
IF your Temp is above 80+ buy a custom CPU cooler......... it will lower CPU Temperature
Generally, 99% usage is fine I agree.
But Frostbite games ( the engine that the game is built on ) tends to not like CPU being pegged at 100% or close to it because it leaves very little resources available to windows for things like inputs which results in delayed inputs.
e.g on my 9700K If I leave it at the default settings I am maxed out on the CPU and there is a very very noticeable delay between pressing a key and then seeing the movement in the game, Anything up to 5 seconds later after pressing the key.
I have to physically disable 2 of the cores of my CPU with process lasso on the BF2042 executable so that there is ample processing power available for inputs to be recognised as I press them.
The game is finally looking like an alpha build. Its not like people are trying to stop playing COD right now from drama; it is great that Battlefield 2042 is always on sale. Game is unfortunately the poorest performing video game of its franchise. At least it beat Escape the Backrooms on Steam.
Also using DLSS increases CPU load test it out, Iv tested a few things for render latency and if your running 60fps or 160fps the latency is the same between 4-8ms so just turn on vsync and cap your FPS at your refresh rate hopefully your monitor is at least 100hz anything under that is choppy feeling imo
capping your FPS will lower your cpu usage when i run uncapped my cpu usage is around 40-45% with my fps capped at 120 its rarely over 25%
If you ask me the cry babies in the community is the worst part of Battlefield 2042.
Exactly like it's a good thing the GPU and CPU is at full load.
If your CPU is going for 80*C like mine is ( being an AMD it loves high temp, good wirking conditions ) go for aftermarket cooler. ( I have the wraith spire on it , stock cooler )
My CPU the ryzen 5 3400G ZEN+ is an 2600X version with an lower L3 cache , and a an integeated GPU, being called an APU.
Now my GPU is just above minimal system req RX 570 ( min RX 560 ) at 4 gb gddr 5 at 256 bit.
Thing is i do have sometimes lag, but it's always server sided, when i abandon the match and start a new one the LAG is gone, when the match is over and start a new one ( matchmaking ) sometimes i have lag again, but not from my side , why?.
The lag is always in the form of teleport and rubberbanding, also having a ping of 20 to 25 ms.
With no ping spikes, this suggests me that the lag is caused by the server and not the client.
Also i see this problem when there are nore players on the server ( Not Ai ) when there are AI the game has 0 lags......
This could be something to look in to.
Also here is the gameplay footege, recorded with OBS ( live streamed )
I live streamed bf 2042 to see if i get same lags as the rest of you.
Yeah, i swear sometimes these memes just wright themselves
"Oh nooo +1 decibel extra from the default oh noo.....the pc is noisy....BROOOO"
Frostbite engine is on of the best realistic game engins out there.
I am just amazed that at 60+ fps running on GPU bare minimum i can render falwlesly the side of the cliffs with all that tesseletaion in 1080p at 75 pov settings
