100% CPU usage

Just coming back to this game when I noticed, man my pc is sure blowing some hot air only to check and see my cpu usage was at 100%!!! WTF my specs are well above recommended and yet my gpu was hovering around 60% usage. My specs are CPU-Intel core I9 10900 2.8 ghz 10 damn cores! GPU- RTX 3070 and 16gb of ram so what am I missing why is this working my cpu to death, granted I have it set to ultra but I've messed with the visual settings it makes no difference on the cpu.

Create a text file add

Thread.ProcessorCount 10
Thread.MaxProcessorCount 20
Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0
Thread.JobThreadPriority 0

Save text file as User.cfg

as for gpu, you sure that isn't vram usage? at the game would use 4.8gb vram of the 8, which is 60%

The GPU isnt really causing problems im sure you're right about that, probably why the usage is up there and it makes sense running at what it is ill try out that config and see if it makes a difference, I have gone into NVIDIA control panel and changed the threaded optimization to off, I heard that could fix it but it did nothing for me should i leave this as is or put it back on with the config?

Alright well I tried that and now its not loading in, im getting this error message [unable to load persistence data]

That error means unable to fetch data from their server, should be unrelated
Common bug, wait a little while or try restarting pc

Okay so that did not fix it, I have it saved in the directory as a TXT file not a text document if that makes any difference, there was an update today tho so idk if its interfering but I did also notice that 90% cpu usage was a pinned discussion so maybe they'll fix it in another patch??

I would cap the fps. Maybe watch a video on settings comparison and impact. Then lower some settings. Still may have high usage, just more fps. So cap the fps. Some settings might not look different on ultra compared to medium, but impact the fps, so you only have fps to gain.

I also have tried that but im really only worried about saving my cpu, the performance is fine really its just not using my gpu enough and a constant 100% rate on my cpu is horrible so I guess I wont be playing this game till its patched, of course with EA the next game will probably be out by then ;-;

that would not work you need to save it as user.cfg file,when you are saving the file first click on save as type select ALL then in the file name put user.cfg and save it

Wait for a patch. lol. If you have 120fps, but capped at 60, then it should lower your cpu usage, because it’s not working as hard. If you don’t have much more then 60fps, then it’s not going to be taking a break. The more fps you can get the more the cpu usage will go down. Say like 150+, the cpu might take a nap, capped it at 60.

It has since been changed to that i did notice when I went and did it again it was a CFG file now but still no luck

I usually have it set to my monitors refresh rate which is 144 and it does stay around that mark even on ultra so im glad about that just the cpu usage is a problem. I could maybe like take off vsync if thats on idk mess with some settings but most of my tests haven't had any change on the cpu whatsoever

Could always try 9 and 18 instead of 10 and 20, worst that will happen if it doesnt work is game wont start, if it does start
that should force a 90% usage :P
Also set in nvidia control panel, set phsyx to gpu

Since the dlss is updated, in the meantime try dlss ultra performance, for minimal visual loss but heavy fps gains
I get 100-140 fps with my i9 9900k 4070 5440x1440, if i go to my 1080p and get up to 200 fps I do stay at 94-100% cpu, at above im only 70-96% cpu usage
( and if the gpu is really only 60% usage and not vram, it should be at 90% +)
