Most of the bad reputation for this game stems from the broken state that it came in when it launched. In my opinion, triple A games like this are complex enough that it is expected that certain issues will come up during the first month of play-through until the main patch rolls out in subsequent weeks or months. Nevertheless, players expect Battlefield games to roll out in a minimal playing state. This game had numerous bugs and issues with game crashes when it came out especially on console. Additionally, although a certain amount of change is expected in the user interface from title to title, this interface was markedly worse in design and function, with less guns to unlock and initially bad guns for some categories. For the most part, the player had to upgrade their bad guns to unlock decent guns to equip their specialists. Also the map design was sub- par compared to previous titles and the levolution and destructability of objects was less robust. In summary, people rated this game down more than it's potential (and realization actually) because they were forced to pay triple A game prices for a game with a poorer: Ui interface, gun selection and tier system, avatar choice,environmental modification and destruction animation, broken hit markers and poor stability. Today the game has great gun-play mechanics, more maps, a few more guns and provides decent game-play comparable to battlefield 3 if not 4 or Battlefield V in my opinion.

Again and again. This game has bad reviews because it's bad. Not because EA. This game is crap. And it almost dead after 2 years. Just turn off cross play and you see only few active servers with players (i think now i can find more players in BF4). With auto aim on console (damn it so brocken) you may have maybe more fun, but it's just mad house and nothing more. Absolutley all has flaws, netcode, hit reg, map disign, spawning, balance. all.
EA and DICE should try very hard to sell me next BF game. I lost all my simphaty to frinchise. Every part was bit worse. And I don't think this one be the worse...

BF 2042 has a broken mouse input.
What I mean by that, is the movement you do with the mouse, do not match with the movement in game. You can’t smoothly track your enemies without the mouse either lags or have some delays. It really feels like, I am dragging my mouse through the mud. This is why, I said it is the worst feeling game. I don’t like fake aiming.
The best way to tell the mouse input is broken, is by open up an older BF title or any other FPS game. Move you mouse around for a bit, then open up BF 2042, and once again move your mouse around.
If you can’t feel the mouse is off in BF 2042, then I can’t really explain it or show what I mean.
Another thing even tho, it is not part of you question. The recoil is also bugged.
Dice has confirmed both the mouse input and the recoil is not working as intended. I just wanted to point that out before people comes up with the skill issue insult.

Because people know when a game has big potential even when it keeps falling short every season. We keep coming back because we want to see it become something it isn't yet. Somehow during all of this we squeeze in some good times. I have never rage quit a game so much in my life.

I am always interested in logging back in just to experience the cinematics of the game. Hopefully squirrel suit my way into happiness until I am forced to use the terrible weapon system and even worse movement. At that point I realize the squirrel suit isn't enough lol. I Leave scratching my head wondering why I even came back until I get the itch to log in again. Same result every damn time. A few hundred hours of this nonsense and I still can't find the silver lining in this game and I still can't stop going back and looking for it all over again.

This game is worse than caffeine.

It is a bonfire of broken pieces with some seriously fun elements to use. Servers are hot slime, movement is all kinds of awkward and unreliable as also is the weapon system. All of the key parts of a BF let alone a big map fps are just not fluid. People also return to meth every day until they have a tooth necklace to remind them of their old smile. Ya we come back, and?

The only reason I play it us because I have one friend who likes it.

Mouse input in this game is unacceptable trash and I'm surprised more people don't complain about it. I hate to sound like a douchebag but I feel like it's because most of the community really just isn't that good so they don't even notice but after coming from any other shooter and then playing this it feels like you're dragging the mouse through mud or constantly lagging behind targets when tracking.

This on top of the recoil bug where the game doesn't even detect your input when pulling down just ruins this game completely. Some people deny these issues exist even though Dice themselves have directly talked about them.

It depends on your hardware you are using
I do not have that issue what so ever
Yea they have talked about them, being peoples setups encountering it, a few doesn’t apply to all

You get that lag because you are getting heavily fluctuating fps most likely or you have conflicting drivers

As for the hurt try an older battlefield title to see, no really, A game that’s runs at higher frames is performing better with 60tick who would of thought, ofc a 200 FPS bfV will respond better than a 120fps 2042…
If my aim was so bad I wouldn’t maintain a 83%+ #1 scoreboard every single match

And please elaborate on which shooters is it better and I will tell you why it feels better lol
