Season 4 - Portal Rules Weekly Mission questions

So, in the patch notes for Season 4, v 4.0 it says:

"Custom Portal experiences that have PvP AI (but not PvE) and no other change than to the map list will have Ribbons XP enabled, Mastery Progression up to Tier 12 and Weekly Missions enabled instead of the usual Restricted XP."

I have a couple questions as I'm patching my PS5 version.

A. What is PvP AI and how is it different from PvE AI in a Portal setup?

B. Does this mean a default Portal setup can unlock Weekly Missions and Battlepass progress now, not just half XP twards missions?

Pvp ai means bot replacing players on an empty server
