This game makes my rig run hotter and harder than cinebench.

people dont realize that running a gpu or cpu at 100% ON WINDOWS creates a domino effect where some programs start to stutter or lag, and its pretty random whether or not a specific program will
for example i have seen a bunch of people say that discord lags while playing bf2042, some say audio in general (this used to happen to me), and for me a good amount of time my keyboard and mouse will stutter as well as my game having to slow down to 20-30fps constantly in fights

10900k rtx 3080 32gb ram, tried config fixes, fps average is 70 with cpu usage averaging 95%, gpu usage sitting at a crisp 30%, my cpu either is drawing almost the same amount of power as my gpu and often times it draws MORE, for reference my gpu maxes out at 400w and my cpu is power unlocked and UNDERVOLTED
I wanted to give this game a shot after seeing it has mixed reviews lately and not mostly negative ones. I've got an I7-10700F and its constantly burning up and using 100% of my CPU. I wanted to give this game a shot but I'm not bricking my rig for game that took a year to even be worth giving a chance. Not everyone can afford a NASA supercomputer and the majority of their playerbase has pretty average PC rigs that can play just about most games. But for whatever reason this game DEMANDS ALL of our CPUs.
The problem is not the cpu its your harddrive. If its not an SSD its going to run like ♥♥♥♥ no matter what.

You know absolutely nothing about how PCs work... 100% CPU usage should never happen in regular use cases or on games and any game with 100% is indicative of fatal flaws in the code. 9/10 times a CPU running at 100% will also be overheating because... its running full tilt.

That's funny, straight from Intel themselves: "CPUs are designed to run safely at 100% CPU utilization."

So I guess you should tell their engineers that they're wrong too...
I never said you was going to blow up your PC did i? I am arguing the point that your performance is going to be severely impacted and you are going to be playing in a gimped state which you should be maddened by since you aren't getting everything you paid for. Even if i was arguing from a stability standpoint (i'm not and never was) would you really take a corporations word at face value? After NVIDIA saying 40-series adapter was A-OK and posed no risk only for them to catch fire? Sure a part can be ran at 100% 24-7 miners do it all the time and then some poor fool buys one on Ebay and it runs for a few months then mysteriously dies.
Why would you want a game to not use your hardware entirely? It is a good thing that it is trying to use the full potential of your hardware to provide the highest amount of FPS in game. I would be downright pissed if my CPU was at 10% and my GPU was at 50%. You don't buy a car to drive around at 1000 RPM all day, do you?

You don't understand how cars work... Yes you can get up to like 5k RPM... till you or the car shifts to a higher gear naturally lowering the RPM so it has to climb again. Normal everyday driving will stay in the 1-2k RPM range, i would know i do sim racing and hold records.

idk if anyone has noticed this but the 500% cpu usage isnt fixed by "buying a better cpu"

its fixed by dice optimising their broken game

There is nothing wrong with 100% usage as long as the CPU isn't overheating. And by overheating, I'm talking to the point it throttles itself down, or hard-powers your PC off.
well electricity prices are high af now. Playing battlefield is like renting a battlefield. (if usage is high)
Is it actually doing that while you're playing, or is it doing that before you play? When it renders shaders it's using a ton of power, but if you wait until you are playing and reset your monitoring software you might see that it's fine during an actual game.

nope, both 100 during a match and in the lobby, which is strange because it runs with zero issue, on all settings
Is this fixed yet with the new update?

yap fixed now, 35% here thanks EA!!
lol I had to hit play about 3-4 times to get the game to run, but it worked

Now keybinds have flipped out and game is laggy, ugh.

Maybe it will be better when servers are back up *laughs*

Thanks for sharing this info in a CPU usage thread....

I still have 100% cpu usage
