is the game good in 2023?

Despite the game's very flawed release, I've noticed it in sale and curious.

Can i get some balanced comments? What's good/ bad?

I've been a Battlefield player since Bad company and played all the title since then.

Bad - you might have 100 % CPU usage bug, some of the best game modes are on shuffle, balance of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stealth helos, recently saw 2 blatant cheaters (that's still less than in any previous BF title, but it's a bad sign that I've seen any), snipers are annoying.

Good - everything else. When the game runs well it's usually a lot of fun.

PS: I've fixed said bug by disabling Thread Optimization in Nvidia Control Panel for BF 2042 and Origin. And I'm very happy because I can enjoy the game again.

Game got really good for me after upgrading CPU and GPU. Before that it was a stuttering mess. Upgraded from Corei7 9700 and 6800 XTX. CPU upgrade should have been good enough nut gave away my 6800 XTX.

@Nemesis yep there is 100% cpu usage. My CPU is at 100%

It's a fun game. There is yet things to be done and enhanced, but it is really different from launch. It's running smooth now. Also, they have being reworking all maps and they are bringing back the class system, from previous Battlefields.
I would rate 7,5/10.
You should give it a try.

nah i disabled Thread Optimization in Nvidia Control Panel but cpu usage still 100% are u trolling or what, i dont get it, whatever it is but, troll people just make more people hate u, stop trolling, and make healthy community

Bad first : Maps are still a little bit empty. They have now become very fun to play (at least in my opinion) but it still often feels like you are running from empty block A to empty block B

There's a bug which occurs during queuing where to be able to get into a new match you have to exit the entire game and restart.

Plane controls feel kinda dumb and with only jets being in the game its kinda lame

Helis and planes can only be used in Conquest which is rather infuriating as it turns that mode into a campfest with people just waiting for the damn thing to come off despawn

Graphics can go a bit ♥♥♥♥♥ every once and a while

Still personally feel the game could use more variety. 2-3 more of every type would be awesome !

Good: Bassically everything else. This game is the opposite of Halo Infinete. That game had a good launch and then went nowhere with the excellent start it had. This game had a horrible launch where the bugs and negatives hid everything good.
However, the devs haven't given up, haven't gone silent and instead have been releasing patch after patch fixing the game and adding new stuff. The game is at a point now where not only is it fixed but the truly cool new additions this game brought to the Franchise are beggining to truly shine. Operators ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rock! They take the old boring class system and add more customization and specilization to each one. The ability to switch weapon mods in the middle of battle is superb ! Being able to bring any type of gear on any character is also amazing. I personally tried the game on trial in early december. I promised myself it was only a trial and that afterward I would promptly delete the game. Instead I ended up prompltly using christmas money to buy it.

Was the hate at launch deserved ? Yes. Are the growing sales and love its acrewing now deserved ? Also yes. This ain't last years battlefield 2042. Its a good game now and worth your money.

What was flawed about the release?

On release the game was buggy as hell. They'd patch and update. The next update would break the thing they fixed in the patch.....over and over again. We couldn't do a proper takedown on a downed enemy crawling until months after launch. Playing against bots in vehicle team death match would make the bots all hang around their vehicles in the spawn. It was pointless to play that in portal. Its much better than it was at launch.

at release it was god awful but some time later on. The game runs very smoothly. No crashes, no stutterings, no hackers. Just shooting and lots of explosions but game still lacking weapons, maps, vehicles and game modes. I mean for 20 bucks and with friends. You'll enjoy it but it STILL has lots of ways to go before it can even top BF3, 4, 1, maybe 5?

Its a fine game if you go into with the mentality that it may be chaotic some games and you may go down quickly sometimes from all directions. But if you play breakthrough (the best time imo) its a damn fun arcade shooter.

Surprisingly decent, bugs so far have been more loading freezes after matches or needing to close and try again to open
