Black Screen on Launch

Can't play the game since today. Just a black screen. FPS counter works well which means game didn't freeze.

Can someone advise?

I'm having a same problem since today, i was thinking that my PC got some issue, but after testing a while, PC is fine
Looks like EA did something wrong that makes the game load super slow
I can't remember if there's a new patch or not, I was setting the game that update automatically after launch the Steam, so i can't tell if there's a small patch or something that cause this problem

Same here, just black screen and fps counter is running.

Edit: Nope it DOES start, it's a new video and that slow AF....but only thing I see now is that lagging video.

Same here , but i restart my PC then lunch the game .. the third time its working now.. hope this will help c u in battlefield

just happened across this same problem. Verifying integrity of game files fixed the issue for me.

1. delete battlefield 2042 folder in documents (this will delete dx12 cache for the game so the first few matches may have some initial lag/stutter, it will also reset your graphics settings etc)

2. verify integrity of game files on steam

Same for me when game shutdown closely after launch.

I've done #1 and #2. I eventually got it to launch as far as the main splash screen. No further yet.

I'm sure that there being a new Nvidia driver today did not help any. I may try rolling it back. Ugh.

Edited to add that I seem to have got it working. I did a few reboots. As well as additional file verifications. Deleted the Battlefield 2042 folder in documents. Plus I cleared my download cache on Steam. Lastly, I deleted the Temp files entry for Battlefield 2042.

Just restart the game.

Same issue, fixed it by doing verified integrity of files. Said it was one file missing.
