FIX CPU 100%
I FIX MY CPU LOAD WITH THIS

Got a i7 10700

I create a user.cfg in game dir with in it those lines:

Thread.ProcessorCount 8
Thread.MaxProcessorCount 8
Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0
Thread.JobThreadPriority 0
GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 16

PM IF NEEDED I CAN HELP EZ

bingo
I can corroborate Xaim's claims because it made the game wayy less stuttery (to almost nothing) when I set a max of 8 threads on my 6 core 12 thread xeon.

Also Xaim you have 8 cores 16 threads so you should be able to move the thread count up to 12 and potentially increase performance, but if you like it as-is leave it be.

For anyone else reading this, I have a 6 core 12 thread processor and only these two lines were needed:
Thread.ProcessorCount 8
Thread.MaxProcessorCount 8
This leaves 2 cores 4 threads for windows/GPU frame queueing and is more than enough, if you have a 8 core 16 thread you can bump it up to 12 threads, and if you have a 4 core 8 thread I recommend knocking it down to 4-6, but I can't say for sure because I haven't put it to the test.

Depending on if you use Windows. Upgrading to Windows 11 fixed it for me. Went from constant 95%-100% down to the 60's. It was unplayable for me last week and has been fine after upgrading. Turning off OneDrive improved my performance as well because 2042 cache goes into my documents folder.

Mine is Documents -> Battlefield 2042 -> cache. I've been clearing it after each patch.

it's the root director of your game, for me it's L:\Origin\Battlefield 2042
for the User.cfg right?

yes
if you tell me what cpu you have I can tell you what is probably the best amount of threads, in my experience you only need these two commands
Thread.ProcessorCount 8
Thread.MaxProcessorCount 8

that's an 8 core 16 thread, so to be safe let's set it to 10, leaving 6 threads for windows/other stuff
Thread.ProcessorCount 10
Thread.MaxProcessorCount 10

Create! Thanks! The user.cfg file has to be named by my ingame nickname or just user.cfg as it is?
