Is this currently the best all round gun in the game? Seems to put players down super fast at any range

What are players opinions on the best weapon in the game?

I just got mastery 12 on all the 2042 assault rifles, here's what I think
SFAR - Best for beginners or not ready for AC42
AC-42 - Best for experienced players. Even the two burst ttk is pretty good at range
AK-24 - Very average, but usable. Not great, but can get kills
AM40 - Best short range ttk
M5A3 - Similarly good ttk at short range with proper attachments. Would take AM40 instead for short range.

Interesting. I never see the AC-42 being used

If all you're looking at is TTK then the AM40 is superior (has about a 15% lower TTK) but in exchange for that slightly better TTK the AM40 gets more recoil in every category and it's a slower ROF.

The M5A3 has NO left recoil It only ever drifts right. The AM40 can drift in both directions and it's recoil for that is almost twice what the M5 will drift right.

CC ammo might need more bullets to kill at longer ranges but it's massive recoil + ROF benefits make it better at those mid ranges than you might think. Plus you can always swap out to standard ammo and see how that feels.

AM40 is superior in close range only. It does not do well at longer ranges
