$10 for PS5 disk at store, $60 for PC at steam?

Weird. A certain brick and mortar has this game, possibly used but so what, for $10. Steam has it for $60. I would love to put it in my son's Steam library so we could play PC co-op sessions. But like heck I am going to pay that kind of platform specific premium. FWIW, can I transfer my Steam copy to his account and pick up a PS5 version for myself?

One time use licence I'm afraid, Just like any other game on steam.

Once you've purchased a game on steam it's tied to your account forever.

you're a steam user with 1800 hours of destiny 2 on your account and 5 games, so you've been around long enough to know how this all works.

and you've been around long enough to see steam sales. so you know this game will be on a discount fairly soon.

At least battlefield has a normal regional price.
Look at the regional prices of the new call of duty. In countries where the minimum wage is almost 5 times lower than in Europe they have a couple of euros lower price than in Europe.

Ha! It's worse than that. Steam does not report Destiny hours for Playstation and Stadia. Yeah, WAY too much time with that game. And this is my second Steam account. My son took over the primary account when we started 'stepping' on each other for play time in various games. I gave it to him when he left for college. As for everything else, nah. I don't follow all the nuts-and-bolts of Steam. People are a wealth of knowledge for things I never bother with, like transferring games. Surprised as heck that I need to wait for a sale of a game that's already cratered in physical media cost. And I like BF2042. It just feels almost putative to pay a 7x markup over top end PlayStation (5) or X-Box (whatever their next gen is) disks. if there is a reminder why there is a place for physical media, there it is.
ETA - A physical PC disk can be had, new, for about $34 for the standard version. So there is that as an option.
