Stuck at 60 fps on a 165 hz screen
I have an i7-11th gen and 3060.i am getting capped at 60 fps. Can't really find any videos or articles that tackle this issue.
Vsync is off in game and on invid. control panel. Tested every setting in game. Made sure settings are turned on in graphic settings on desktop dashboard. Even went in to the save file and checked to make sure fps was set to 165.
Any advice? Not sure if i am missing something or the game caps at 60 fps

don't expect 160 fps tho.

Not sure what you mean. I understand it wont always stay at 160, but reaching 160 is the problem.
Don't expect to get close to 160 with a 3060... Your computer or your game don't care what monitor is attached...

Which resolution do you use? ..as a 3060 is a really "low-end" card, a bad one.

And or try without dlss if using, for me it makes game run terrible in my situation,
dlss in kid of case based, I played with the same mobo and ram but with 2 different gpu, a rtx 2080 and an rtx 3080, on the 2080 the dlss worked properly once I tweakid the game a bit to make it work and it acually ingresed my fps withouth making the image blurry; on the 3080 it only decrease the gpu load without adding any fps and making the image worse, end of the line the 2080 was almost performing better than the 3080

This game doesn't really go that high, Unless you start sacrificing CPU intensive settings such as mesh quality, draw distance etc. For reference with a 5800X @ 5ghz all core, and a 3090 with a 500w bios and a massive overclock I can only average about 120-130 FPS. It reaches 150-160 once in a blue moon for a split second or so, that's at 1440p no DLSS, 4K averages around 80-90 FPS. (that is worse case on full 128 player servers) some of the old maps in portal can hit an average of 150-160 fps but these maps are not 128 player.
Game performs bad and CPU/RAM is what is holding it back in most cases.

Yeah. I have made sure nothing is set to "cap" or limit fps. Also made sure that I am not using intergrated graphics, made sure the game is registering global settings and not using it's own settings. (in global everything is set properly as to not limit fps or hinder gaming)
This problem seems to be a bit wide spread after the newest update. Howver, i am new to this game and want to make sure that i check everything before i can 100% blame the game itself.
I am guessing either A) i am missing the smallest setting (can't imagine what, but i have seen stranger things happen) or B) the game is to blame. So either i have to wait for a fix, or it is going to be someone who has had this exact problem and has stumbled upon the fix. [/quote

My other games run just fine. I have everything in windows set to the needed settings, and it seems only bf 2042 is acting up. Not seeing a fix for this as i have tried everything i know of. Like i said i think it is either the update (a lot of people are saying this is the issue) or it is something very indepth that i am missing...which could be possible, but not likely.

The only difference with latest update was how the cache is stored, and you misunderstood, the games engine capacity and poorly optimized limits like above said, you won’t be reaching 165 even on low, you will get 60-120
And the game can only use 12c12t so if you have 8c + any threading over 12, you meet a cap introduced by engine, my 9900k uses 8c 12t for instance and is capped at 75% of total
And what are you using for FPS reads?
As well as native resolution ?

I am using the in game fps reader (origin)
native res. 1920 x 1080.
I have checked everything that i know of and it still ins't working, so it would seem this is an on going problem with the game. All of my research is pointing to that.

Yes, it is the game, but you still will only ever get 60-120 FPS due to poor engine designs
My friend with a 3060 ti gets 70 FPS any setting
Try using a direct FPS reader like nvidias in game graph
Steam FPS counter and origin have been bugging out sometimes since launch and give wrong fps at times

Hopefully it will be fixed in the future but not holding my breath. Ty for the assistance and information B.

:steamthis: I randomly fixed my pc with same issue, i had 3 ports used, 2x DP screens, and TV via hdmi(wich only supported 60 hrtz), i had it as copy image of screen 1, by simply unplugging it and restarting the game, i had full hertz settings (leaving only relative screen, but my 2nd DP had no issues regadless) :steamthis:

1. Make sure WINDOWS is set to 165hz. Do this first.

2.Go into the game, go into the options pick a resolution that shows that frame rate.
