Controller not working
Anyone have an issue playing this game with a controller? My xbox elite controller works with everything else. But when i try to play battlefield, all the button mappings get messed up. I went to controller key bindings, went to the first binding, interact, went to change it. pushed the x button on my controller and the mapping that showed up was the d pad.

I honestly dont even know where to look to change this. Ive never experienced anything like this before. I went to controller layout and gamepad is selected. Im lost. Any help would be appreciated

I have had different issues. Game became completely unplayable with a controller, eventually, I realised it is the steam controller interface for the desktop. I would press LS for sprint and the keyboard would pop up. Basically it is trying to use the desktop setup for the game, or it seems. I worked this out when I re downloaded Modern Warfare and Battlenet. Same bloody thing happened on COD!. Exited Steam all fixed and working just fine. Not sure how to disable the controller fubctions on big screen or why it even register on the desktop. But that is what is screwing most of the controller interface on BF in my experience. I turned off the xbox controller support and will try again.

Yep disabled xbox controller support and works better than ever. I used to have intermittent issues but became constant yesterday. Why steam? why? I almost went mad and was about to pull my rig apart!!!!! How can these issues appear suddenly with no changes made?

I had the same issue with one of the tomb raider, keep changing the controller settings in steam for this game between xbox a steam controller and after a few try it shoul start working normally

I think xbox controller is picked up by windows itself, no need for the steam controller support, could this be causing the conflict?

I found a work around on youtube. Had to add non steam games to steam, added origin. Went to big picture mode. Selected origin. went to controller options. Set an option that i think is steam setting per-game or something like to, set that to forced on. launched origin from steam then bf from origin. Seemed to work but occasionally i still get my character doing a 180 and looking at his feet. Maybe once of twice a match.

I dont have any other origin games but im wondering if it was an origin problem
