how's the game optimization?
hi, I'm thinking of buying bf 2042 and I would like to know if the game is optimized or not

My specs:
CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6-Core Processor
GPU : Radeon RX 570 Series
8 GB RAM

Let me know if this is enough to run the game smoothly (i dont trust steam reccomended specs lol)

Pretty much
Cpu is just within limits
Gpu is barely within limits with a 54fps avg
Ram is under, as it would benefit heavily with 16gb
All together you would get something along the lines of 40-60 fps most likely
With 16gb ram you would get 10-20 more FPS

As mentioned, your system would play it alright at low of course, The only concern is the ram, I would definitely look into at least 16Gb of total ram, this game can use a good chunk of it and leave not much room for anything else that might run the background.

optimization is super super bad, i have i7-7700k 1070, the game runs on m.2 and i have 16gb ram. the game runs at the lowest with "65" average fps, although it feels like 35 fps most of the time and the game looks worse than Roblox.

what's your stable frame rate = monitor frequency?

My 12 core 5900x and 6800xt gets over 100fps at 3440x1440, a decent modern 8 core 16 thread CPU should do pretty well

Very bad. I have 60fps with low/medium details on Legion 5 pro (ryzen 7, rtx 3070)… In BF5 I have 120FPS with ultra details…

yeah thats weird right? i have 120 fps too in BF5 and BF1 with ultra settings. so i check recomended in this web, and they recommend me to up my GPU, i using 1080ti, so i have a plan to up my GPU to 3080ti or 4080ti, since EVGA quit from NVIDIA, maybe i will chose Asus ROG.

Had a 2600x, 16gig ram, 1070, playing 1080p, and it was really bad for me come release. Like 10-20 fps all throughout. Frames did improve after a month though but nothing that significant. Perhaps around 30-40. Quite playable but frames drop when there are many people around. I have a 5600x now with 32 gigs ram, and still a 1070 (will upgrade probably next month), now at 1080p with low settings I rarely dip below 75fps.

Yes, get more ram. Perhaps 32 gigs. Upgraded in increments, frames started to improve for me, upgraded my processor first which improved frames and then RAM, that helped with the slow-downs I had when a lot of people were converging in a point.

yeah me too, frame drops when there are many people, especially 128 players match.

It's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I have a 9900k/3080 and currently struggle to get above 70 @ 1440p.
It stutters and hitches often, and my FPS gets worse every time they update the game (not kidding, several updates ago I was averaging 120 FPS).

did you turn on ray tracing and forget, or something because 120 to 70 is a problem, the game performs better since updated

since patch 2.1 getting 10/15 fps average increase but now , heavy input lag and hitreg issues ..
bug fix , some few , but now new few bugs on weapons .

This BF 2042 each update was the same , with one side get better ,one other side getting worst . its quite boring since month its the same matters . i don't expect anymore a "stable" or polish build for this game .
