Game will not launch

I have tried many things to try to get the game to launch, even cleared cache and such. I open the game and the splash screen shows up twice then disappears and nothing else happens. Any help would be appreciated.

If you're running into the issue were the game won't launch and all you get is error (2). try going to your pc folder. This PC> Local Disk (C)> Program Files(x86)> Steam> steam> games. Then find BF2042 right click go to properties go to the Security tab in the permissions for ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES check the box for allow Full Control.
Haven't been able to play since the third patch and this fixed my issue.

^ I have been working on this all day off and on, and @astrolounge95 fixed my game. I've downgraded NVIDIA drivers, cleared caches, checked integrity multiple times, moved location, removed conflicting services, watched the process fail in ProcMon with no discernible error. This made me not refund the game. Devs should look in to why a game requires these permissions to run. Very amateur move considering no other games need that level.
