People actually think this is cheating? Really? I can't believe I need to say this but, you guys do know that these kinds of abilities have been in shooters before right? I didn't see anyone screaming "CHEATER" back then, why are we doing it now? It makes no sense. Even if there is balancing issues at launch, they can be addressed.
My issues with the specialist system at this current point in time are in regards to the lack of teamwork amongst squad members. The gadgets of the specialists themselves aren't the issue here. I'm sure there is a way to make this work better that doesn't involve scrapping the specialists altogether and bringing back classes.
Most of the responses I'm seeing in regards to BF2042's changes mostly boil down to: "Just make it like BF4." If you guys just want another BF4, go play BF4. Why don't we actually make an effort and try to make BF2042 work well while preserving its identity instead of just scrapping new things it brings because it doesn't work perfectly initially.
Sorry, but the more I look at this community the more childish I think it is. Everyone just seems to latch on to one idea without thinking, and the reaction to these new specialists just reeks of that mentality.
I don't expect many people to agree with me, but that's genuinely how I feel about this community at the moment.
Had to refund now, this is getting way out of hand.
Again, if you guys just want BF4, go play BF4.
I'm with you in this one. Right now all we see are just straight up manbabies and trolls trying to sway legit players away from this game before it gets released, whether it is on this forum, YouTube, Reddit or even Twitter. I won't ignore the fact that there are people with legit concerns with the game and that is fine.
In other words just let the final product do the talk next month. Beta is not really enough to justify preordering though.
Youre cherry picking, in order to get your anti-anti point across(very rebellious of you clapclap).
Of course people say make it like BF4, why? Because BF4 worked(after Ripple Effect studios fixed it). Thats why you see that argument.
The whole Specialist thing has 0 to do with what Battlefield was about, and of course do people want another of the same, Yeah another BF4 with new content, why not.
I make marble cake all the time and I still love it.
When you go out to buy a new car, you expect it to be a car that looks and performs better than your old one, but it still does everything cars are supposed to do.
Or do you expect your new car to drive sideways or take driving away from you?
Thats what people wanted from 2042, they wanted another Modern Combat Battlefield(not Call of Duty, not apex) that did the exact same as previous titles, just with new graphics and new content.
Going back to play BF4 is old content that isnt getting anything new anymore and 2013 technology and a dying community ontop of it.
Simple as that lmao.
If they wanna go into a different direction they should have either made a different franchise or called it something like "Battlefield Specialists" or some ♥♥♥♥ like that.
Battlefield Heroes anyone? They did it before, so why not now?
This is just greed.
Now stop being so anti-anti and less toxic in your posts, it reminds me talking with vegans.
If what we really want is BF4 with new content and updated technology, why aren't we just asking for a BF4 remaster? That seems way more in line with what people seem to want and wouldn't creatively stifle the series since it's upfront on what it is from the outset. They would just be going back to stuff they did earlier and polishing it instead of trying to create something familiar yet new. The latter is what BF2042 is, it's a new entry in the franchise that is familiar but is going to make some changes, perfectly reasonable. Maybe people were asking for a remaster of BF4 and I just wasn't aware, but the bottom line is that people got far too excited by the reveal trailer and were making assumptions on what the game was going to be like before actually seeing anything. You are setting yourself up for disappointment by doing that. Just because it's a modern Battlefield game doesn't mean it is going to be exactly like BF4.
I have seen other franchises like Call of Duty get raked over the coals for not making any substantial changes between releases, so why people are clambering for it now is just strange to me. Familiarity breeds contempt after all.
Say what you want about me, but I think I have been far less toxic when compared to a lot of other people in the community. But then again, I'm also the same person that has the audacity to think that this game isn't a complete dumpster fire and that some small changes could go a long way in making it better. You can't a middling opinion on this sort of thing anymore, everything either needs to be black or white.
Could only be defused by an Engineer.
People seems to forget that the game is set in 2042 and a prequel to BF2142 so we're going to get more advanced gadgets.
doesn't actually play bf4 do ya
NAh not really, but communities eventually fizzle out. Played enough games that lasted for years after its successors released.
