It's all to do with the technical specs of the CPU's rather than the actual CPU itself..

Using CPU Boss website, Comparing the 4790 ( There is no i7 4700K ) and the AMD Ryzen 7 shows both are almost equal in terms of performance, With the newer cpu ( AMD ) having a small performance increase over the 4790, whereas the intel has slightly lower memory latency which would probably make up for the lesser speed.

Same goes for I5 6600K vs Ryzen 5 3600, The intel has a lower latency by 9%.

That said, DICE have these specs up officially as that is the hardware that is tested and confirmed to be working well with the software.

It doesn't matter if, on paper, one is more powerful than the other, The results speak for themselves when developing software and using a small subset of low/mid and high end cpu's to bench with to come to the conclusion of what works best with the system requirements in testing.

In addition to that, Singlethread performance is better on Intel.

Not to mention that it's not even the k model that is recommended, just ye old regular 4790.

4790k would fare better if only slightly.

Would be an interesting thing to try out, I believe the game is really cpu dependent. My friend has an I7 6700k or something similar to that + a GeForce rtx 3070 and said that he couldn't really get decent fps in battlefield 2042 open beta. Hopefully the release client will be more optimized.

nah the beta is not a good indicator of performance ... it was broken unoptimized mess ... OC final release will run ALOT better especially tnx for more optimization. game-ready driver on release and also NVIDIA DLSS on RTX gpus shouldmake miracles happen :)

Because EA are totally clueless. Anyone who's remotely into pc tech knows the Ryzen 3600 equals an i7 8700 or i5 10400 give or take a few percent. And the closest ryzen cpu to an i7 4770 is a ryzen 5 1500x.

Neither did my rig, even though mine got better CPU but worse GPU.

Regardless I do think that an R5 3600 is a bit too much for minimum specs. i5-6600K is equal to like R3 1300X or R5 1400 if I'm not mistaken.

I5 6600k suffers from lack of hyper threading and the Beta was unplayable for a friend even with a GTX 1070Ti, but i was able to run it fine with a Ryzen 5 2600x + GTX 1060 6GB .

Was there an Intel fanboy that made up the specs at EA, did they even look at the core/thread count, generation, of the processors they were comparing, my guess would be NO.
Delta-Frost Oct 20, 2021 @ 8:28am
[Min-Specs] - The 3600 is in competition with Intel’s 6-core i5-9600K but it's far from i5 6600K tbh...

[Rec-Specs] - The Ryzen 7 2700X go heads to head with I7-8700K but it's far from Core i7 4790 ...

it's pretty hard to find logic in those officials specs i can understand that...

Yeah, Especially when the recommended is an i7 4790. I doubt you could find 1 instance where a 4790 beats a ryzen 3600.

Windows 11?

Not sure what you're asking.
But i'll go one further. I doubt you could find 1 instance where a 4790 beats even a Ryzen 3100, within margin of error.

I think it was better to write Ryzen 5 2600, or even R5 1600X, because their perfomance are close to Intel Core I3 10100F, and it is 5-15% powerfull than I7 4790K in games.
