If i get home and I have the game on Steam, updates are very likely already downloaded and installed, even with the game starting through Origin.
If it's on only Origin, I won't see any updates till I start that client, which i really have no reason to keep running since most of the time I'll be on Steam instead. This increases the chance of running into updates, when I want to play, by quite a lot.
At the end of the day, if you own the majority of your games on Steam, I'd stick with Steam. If Battlefield is all you play or you are already invested in Origin, stick with it. However, my preference is Steam for the reasons I listed.
It wouldn't make any difference even if I got it on steam really, I usually have origin and steam open at the same time anyway.
If Steam is acting up, you (probably) can't play the game even if the Origin servers are perfectly fine, even though Steam isn't needed to play the game unless you choose so.
You basically just up your odds at running into issues, since you depend on 2 platforms, rather than one.
Objectively, Origin is the obvious choice.
But it's your money so do whatever.
You can get Origin keys for the game 10 to 20 EUR cheaper, though. So you're really just sabotaging yourself by insisting on using Steam in tandem.
There is no possibility that it won't use Origin..
It does state quite clearly on the store page :
It's all there in B&W I'm afraid.

I hate being the bearer of bad news, But It's not a huge deal really.
The version of origin that gets installed is just a lightweight version needed just to launch the game rather than being the full client.
