Question about the relevance/loose ends of an unseen character (spoilers)

I've done a couple of playthroughs and collected a bunch of information on Kaia, but still can't figure out a few loose ends about her, and I'm not sure if there's anything else to discover:
1) It's implied that Rebecca and Sean are siblings/twins, but I have no idea why Robin and Paul only adopted Rebecca (or if there's anything behind reason they chose to adopt one of Kaia's kids in the first place, since Robin seems super resentful about the adoption plan in her mindsurf memory)
2) The reason Kaia came to the camp in the first place - a couple characters mention she feared for her life and had to flee her original country, but I couldn't find any information on why
3) The circumstances of this character leaving -the assistant eventually uncovers that a man named Benjamin Ziccardi traveled with her 1.5 years ago and helped her get to the border. We get his full name, but there's no other mention of this man. Did she just up and leave her family because she was mentally unstable, cheating, etc? Did she just want to get as far away from her old life as possible?

I haven't completed my playthrough yet, but from what I remember...

when mindsurfing Robin, we see that she had the huge argument with Paul about adopting (cause she couldn't have kids). Paul mentions that there are 2 and she freaked out at him even more saying that 1 was already too much. So I believe Paul wanted to adopt both, but Robin put her foot down and said no.

I haven't come across anything else that would help, but hope that gives at least a little more information!

1) Robin mentions at some point that she is infertile. I assume Kaia's party life led her to unwanted pregnancy. Paul and Robin wanted a child, so they came to an agreement with Kaia - she'd get a house and a job at camp, and she'll bear child and give it to them. I suppose a default option would be abortion. But then it turned out that she'd have twins, resulting in birth of Sean - a child that nobody really wanted.

Or maybe the Goodmans watned Kaia to surrogate, but only a single child? this could mean that Paul is a biological father to Rebecca and Sean
