Black Screen

After the first cut scene the screen goes black and I cannot do anything. Anybody know what's wrong?

I've got exactly the same. I'm trying to download it again, but I'm afraid it's wasted money... it's a shame, because Horsez 1 was a pretty nice game, so I kind of hoped that Horsez 2 would be fun too.

Finally figured this out. If the black screen is happeing after the first cutscene, then the problem is with your DirectX. What worked for me was to disable my spyware, reinstall Direct X, then re enable the spyware. The game works for me now.
If it happens when you first start the game, go to the game folder which should be

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Petz Horsez 2

Then click on Boot. Edit the GameDataPath to read

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Petz Horsez 2\Petz Horsez 2

and save.

Hopefully it works for you now :)

Hi,
the fix does not work for windows 10. The game starts, I see some publisher logos, then I get a black screen and after some minutes an error message asking for "the boot file. I have payed around with different folders and also changed the boot file (folder path), but still the game won't start. Nice activity with two little girls around...
