Just a heads up, this is a online only game
Just a heads up for people who care. This is a online only game. The devs keep advertising their games as being playable offline and online, but if you play offline you can't even finish the tutorial. You can't unlock stuff, or progress in the game at all. It's the same for their Ghostbusters game too if you were wondering.

Arcadegeddon has actually had a lot of progress made to Offline Mode over the past year with various fixes and improvements. Admittedly, the early days of Arcadegeddon Offline Mode was fairly bare bones and had a lot less features than it does now, but none of the statements you have made about Offline Mode are true.

You CAN finish the tutorial in Offline Mode.
You CAN unlock various character customization and abilities in Offline Mode.
You CAN progress through the missions and experience the story in Offline Mode.

You may have experienced a bug during the early days of Arcadegeddon which could cause players to become stuck during the tutorial, but that issue was fixed within a few days after it was introduced. We're sorry that your Arcadegeddon experience was impacted because of this issue and we hope that you can give the game another try.

If you encounter any issues with the Offline Mode or have any suggestions, we'd definitely like to hear about it.

I have internet and a desire for my games to work offline, because anything less would be an objectively worse product. I don't understand why LAN play and private servers disappeared from the market in general when we can see the wake of dead games that would still be playable if the feature existed, but if this is a multiplayer-focused game and has no LAN, then I know it's not for me.
Yeah, just today it was announced that that Gundam Evolution will be shutting down after only existing for a year. Another game gone forever because it won't work offline.

How much does Gundam Evolution cost? Because if it is free, you are comparing apples and oranges.

Nah, free to play games deserve to be preserved too. Sell people the servers if you have to.

If the game has a niche audience (not enough to keep it alive), I feel preserving it would not be sustainable.

It has offline available straight from the main menu. OP is wrong.
The game always had a offline mode, it was just useless since you couldn't really do anything in it.
According to the devs it's now improved.
I would love for someone who has the game to check if it has all the features off the online mode though.

Spend 5$, play for an hour, see for yourself. Worst case: Refund. Or just read my reply about the game having a fully playable offline mode with every content included except coop.

Preserving it doesn't mean the company needs to keep a server running. It means you have the ability to run the server yourself, whenever you want. You can still play Quake multiplayer to this day, indefinitely into the future, regardless of whether or not the company that made it is still around paying someone to run operations on a server somewhere.

They're still posting updates, like the June one which added quite a lot. Seems to be doing well enough for them to keep going. Also has a console version. It was a bit more popular on the PS5 back then. I think Steam should give a little extra push, plus the price is crazy low for what you get. Sells under value imo. And now with Dteam Deck support it's a gret title to play on the go. i don't see this die. It'll just remain.
