Can you elaborate on "can't progress" ? Been playing this offline only on Epic for 30-40hrs and i've been able to unlock skins, and progress through each level. Been a while though, things can change, hence why i wonder what exactly you're describing.
And by offline I mean actually offline disconnected from the game server, not just playing solo while online.
The game has an offline mode literally in the menu. Why would you disconnect yourself from the internet in 2023? oO
Arcadegeddon has actually had a lot of progress made to Offline Mode over the past year with various fixes and improvements. Admittedly, the early days of Arcadegeddon Offline Mode was fairly bare bones and had a lot less features than it does now, but none of the statements you have made about Offline Mode are true.
You CAN finish the tutorial in Offline Mode.
You CAN unlock various character customization and abilities in Offline Mode.
You CAN progress through the missions and experience the story in Offline Mode.
You may have experienced a bug during the early days of Arcadegeddon which could cause players to become stuck during the tutorial, but that issue was fixed within a few days after it was introduced. We're sorry that your Arcadegeddon experience was impacted because of this issue and we hope that you can give the game another try.
If you encounter any issues with the Offline Mode or have any suggestions, we'd definitely like to hear about it.
But you do know that you don't own any of the games on Steam, right? They're digital and if Steam pulls the plug, they're all gone.
Of course I know that, but at this point Steam has existed for almost 20 years. So I feel it is a very stable platform and out of all the digital stores it is the one I feel will be around the longest so I feel pretty comfortable in letting Steam store my games.
This however, is a more valid argument. But you could also just move out of the woods. Or convince your provider to get some work done. Again, it's 2023. Not that hard.
..though it should be the full game via Galaxy for the online part. Very easy and possible. I would buy it only there, solely for the SP part. That's right, I'm one of those.
