Chess puzzle problem

I can't figure out where to move on the board and the player in the past can't do anything with the chess board

There's a disparity between your boards. You can move one of them, to fix that disparity, and then the other piece will move so the Past player has to follow that move, etc.

Also the Past player needs to collect the two chess pieces first which is done by opening a drawer in the 3-drawer cabinet, then place the chess pieces on the chess board and start playing together!

we figured it out,the player in the past hadn't set the clock properly so they didn't have the chess pieces. To be fair the machine in the present only gave the time and a screwdriver and said to play chess and the past player thought they set the clock right and nothing happened so we thought we were stuck.
