Steam Overlay ?

I use to be able to use Steam Overlay while playing BGE years ago. But now, after a fresh installation, I can't use it nor take screenshot. Does someone know if I can solve that ?

Seems, they broken Alt+Tab functionality again (I tried and failed), so disabled Steam Overlay in the game. Can be wrong though.

Yep - Just edit the main game bge.exe to something else, like bget.exe

no worries. It might still work on GOG, but not with the Steam version. At least not for me.

I'm using OBS right now, which is way less practical. And I find that pretty weird since I know Steam Overlay worked on my current configuration years ago.

Hmm, Alt+Tab stopped to work in my separate CD install too, that was fixed with widescreen fix long ago. I suspect NVidia drivers then - I seen such black screens recently in other full-screen games.

Oh, wait, it's actually widescreen fix problem. If I remove it, alt+tab starts to work... but Steam overlay still absent. *sigh* Seems, Ubi disabled it then?

I've re-download the game for the 3rd time, but this time after uninstalling it with Revo. Now it works like it used to. I don't really know why. If I find the reason I will update this topic.

We've had nothing to suggest the Steam Overlay has been disabled in-game.

Smiling Spectre, would you also be able to please try uninstalling the game in it's entirety, it appears some residual files are conflicting, but this would be easier to establish if we're able to confirm this more than once.

@Ubi_TheBerry, problem confirmed. If install/uninstall through Steam, overlay remains broken, even if I remove all files from the dir. Revo Uninstaller (that catches also registry settings) was able to remove this problem - after I removed all registry occurences and reinstall, overlay started to work. No idea what _exactly_ was the source of it, unfortunately. I had to make screenshots, probably. :(
