How to fix low framerate

Ok, so as many of you know BG&E is nearly unplayable right now on some systems. This guide should be simple to follow, and I hope that it helps people who are having framerate issues with BG&E.

Before I get started, I should say this: If your computer's hardware isn't powerful enough to run this game, sorry. This guide can't help you...

Finding your install directory

If you are on steam, it should be here: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Beyond Good and Evil",

If you are on Uplay, it should be here: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Beyond Good and Evil"

If you installed via disk, it might be here: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Beyond Good and Evil"

If you are on a different operating system than Windows, sorry. I'm only familiar with Windows.

Thanks to the work of "CaptianSkullsaber" over on moddb.com, we have a fix for the horrendous framerate of BG&E. The fix is an ENB, and it is super simple to install.

Getting the ENB

Step 1. Head on over to this website: http://www.moddb.com/mods/bge-enb/downloads/bge-enb
Step 2. Scroll down until you see the pink button that says "DOWNLOAD NOW"
Step 3. Click the button, a window should pop up. If the ENB doesn't automatically download, click the text at the top of the window.
Step 4. Open the .zip file that the ENB comes in.

Installing the ENB

Step 1. Move the .zip file window and the BG&E install directory window to places where you can see both of them.
Step 2. Move all files that are in the .zip file into the install directory of BG&E, alongside the .exe files that are already in the install directory.

Extras

Hey folks, 2020 has rolled around and I figured that I should update this post slightly. If you don't like the red hue shift that the ENB causes, you can easily get rid of it by deleting 'enbpallet.bmp'. The framerate will still be smooth, and the game will retain its normal color palette.

Additionally - I don't know why I didn't do this earlier; I have created an easy to install all-in-one archive that you simply drop into your install directory! This should eliminate installation woes of the past, and make installation of this fix easier than ever! You can grab it here![drive.google.com]

Here is a rar with edited enbseries.ini wich will make the game run and look like it was meant to

First download goo*gl/q99CTX (replace * with a . ) and extract to bge folder

Set bge.exe and checkapplication.exe to compability mode Windows XP (Service Pack 3) to eliminate compability issues then start SettingsApplication.exe and check manual compability settings and check:

Triple-buffering

SSE

Fast Flip

If you have previously downloaded an enb mod remove all files!

This made the game run perfectly and removes all the enb graphical effect with causes some bugs

also this fixes the alt-tab bug

If you're still doubtfull about viruses you can download the dll from the official enb website enbdev.com/mod_tesoblivion_v0075a.htm and just use my enbseries.ini from the rar or create it yourself from here http://pastebin.com/YB1KEU6y

This made it even worse for me. HUD,menu text is flickering, some textures not loading fully, list goes on...

JUST USE "nvidia contral panel", then go to "3d settings" and then go to "Manage 3d settings". then go to "program settings" and pick beyond good and evil. then change the prefer graphics processor to "High-performance NVIDIA processor" and then "apply". boom that should do it.

So it did work after I reinstalled the mod but my hud is disapearing and cetrain textures disapper here and there. Not a major problem (it is annoying however) but I think I may know the problem and am going to attempt to fix it. I will leave an edit here on my succsess of failure.

*edit: I've managed to remove it to a degree and still have a few more options to try out. but I may forget to update that I've fully fix it. Currently only the items in the top left are on the fritz

wow, this fixed my framerate so thanks for that!! It was unplayable before..
The only oddish thing that I found till now is, that the colors seem a bit off now (a slight reddish color), but that's just a minor thing..

You need to cap it down to 60 FPS using an external software like RTSS (Rivatuner Statistics Server).
