You can right click Gunlocked in your Steam library and go to your controller settings. From there you can click "controller general settings" and make sure your type of controller is included. You can also try turning on or off "Steam Input." After any changes, restart Steam and see if that helps.
I can't imagine what the conflict is. That's what I use for primary testing.
Unfortunately this isn't a problem that I can likely solve for you. I and my testers all use Xbox 360 controllers, and I also have a generic logitech version. We can't replicate the problem. It is likely a unique conflict with something on your computer intercepting or blocking my game from accessing your controller. Whether it's another program or a driver, I can't be certain.
My only other suggestion would be to try a different USB port and/or check that you have the latest drivers. And yes, I understand other games work fine, but every game and engine can have unique issues based on an infinite number of device configurations on PC. Sorry that I can not be of more assistance. I'll continue to look into the issue.
So my switch BT controller works on Gunlocked DESPITE going to Big Picture Mode in steam and making SURE that my 360 controller is set up and the controller options for it are forced on.
Your guess is as good as mine here.
Oh, interesting. My guess would be that your computer is setting that device id to 0 (ie, the primary controller that is detected first), which is the device id Gunlocked checks for. I might be able to make an adjustment in the future that could remedy that though not immediately. I appreciate your patience with trying to figure this out.
I'm actually testing a small update right now that might help you with your issue. So you can use the controller you'd want to. It should make it so the game defaults to the first controller you use, instead of the first controller listed in your device. If all goes well, it should be out in a couple hours.
And I appreciate you not just writing the game off immediately. I'm going to wait until morning to release the update. I'm still waiting for my testers to get back to me on the patch, and I don't want to break anything and then go to sleep, haha.
Driver fails to be detected till unplug the controller wait it out then plug it back in.
Soon as Game over the driver previously used just drops till the controller is plugged back in IE reset.
Game is refreshing the detected drivers when the game gets restarted then it selects one not in use.
edit *went into steam settings > controller > and then added xbox and xbox additional support. This solved the issue for this game*
You found a solution before I even saw the report. Glad it worked out for you!
