I will try your fix later this week and will report if it resolved the sound loop bug.
I really think there is no fix at all, it's just in the game's MP code itself.
Going to give this a shot later, but thank you in advance!
As a suggestion, has anyone who has experienced this tried running the game in Windows compatibility mode, in addition to disabling full-screen optimization, to emulate Windows XP/Vista, and did this help?
Locate the games .exe game file in its installation folder -
- Right click on the .exe file and select the Properties option
- Next, select the 'Compatibility' tab
- Select one of the older Windows OS, either - Windows XP/Vista
- Select Apply
- Select OK
- Launch the game by double-clicking on the games .exe file instead

I got flashed and the sound returned. It seems that continue to play the game eventually the audio would return, but when got flashed the audio returned to normal for me.
The problem may be related with audio effects that flashs grenades and frag granades has on the player, to simulate the "temporary deafness". The glitch may occur because the engine don't call back the normal audio, so you are on the constant effect of the deafness problem; this is just my theory, I'm really don't like programing, so I'm just guessing based on my own knowledge.
So, what fix for me (Playing Single-Player)
- Continue to play, eventually the audio would return, but every match was bugged at the start of it.
- The IA throwed a flash grenade on me, then the audio came back. I think it should work with Frag granades too, maybe.
So... throw a flashbang on yourself and see if it work for you
=/ . Gotta say, this is one very annoying glitch.
Thank you for your additional workaround and insights on this dem0, it's appreciated and will hopefully help others in the community who may be encountering this should compatibility mode not do the trick.
We appreciate it!

Every map I enter the bug start and goes away. I just keep shooting until the game fix itself. If you just keep moving, shooting, eventually it goes back to normal; at least for me.
I notice too that the game has problems to load the menu after you quit a match, showing only black screen (it take a few seconds - 3 ~ 5 - to load the main menu, even though you can hear the sound effect when hoving on the menus with your mouse).
So, for me the glitch can be reproduce:
- Every time I enter on a Terrorist Hunt map, the glitch occur.
- It fix itself while I'm just running and shooting (It seems to take from 1 minute up to 3 minutes to get back to normal).
- After the sound glitch is gone, it does not come back. I can change weapons and the game run normal. But, If I leave the map and start another map, the glitch occur again and I have to the same procedure to fix it (keep shooting and running untill the game fix itself).
- I notice too when the glitch occur and the sound is starting to came back to normal, my FPS will sometimes drop drastic (I don't have the numbers, but it is clearly felt like the framerate was bellow 30 FPS).
I don't know if the community was already aware of this things, but I will leave here my experience, maybe it will help somebody.
PS: All my experience was playing Solo. I did not play Multiplayer matchs or co-op.
The bug for me appear on the Terrorist Hunt solo mode (with Lone Wolf, don't know if it changes anything if add IA partners).
