General Protection Fault
Okay. So everytime I try and startup the game, I get a "General Protection Fault" History error, I've tried verifying the files, it says 2 are missing and will be redownloaded, they download I think, and I restart steam, same error as before. I have tried setting it in compatibility mode and running as an admin. I am currently reinstalling . ..

AMD Phenom II x6 1100t

Couldn't really help sorry. This error looks like a segmentation fault (when a program is accessing a location in memory where nothing exists) and happens pretty randomly, whether it is at launch or in the middle of a game.

Did you try reinstalling the whole game or using a nocd executable?

I ended up using the nocd, it fixed it. Thank you

By the way, I'm using the nocd executable as well and I'm still getting the "General Protection Fault" error about once a month, I can live with it though since the game crashes randomly for other reasons several times a month.

I think crashes are less frequent with the nocd executable than with the original executable.

What No-CD thing are you talking about? I have the EXACT same problem as you and I don't know how to do what you did.

go to gamecopyworld or a similar site, and download the no CD crack for this version.

When I try to run the patch is says it can't find the version number.

download the file "Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 v1.03 [MULTI5] No-DVD/Fixed EXE " from gamecopyworld, replace the original exe in the game directory with that file. I believe you have to unzip it when you download it.

When I try to start the game it says to insert the CD-ROM?

It sounds like you didn't apply the no-cd correctly.
