How do I get this working with game ranger?

I used to play this all the time through LAN on game ranger with a friends, but now I can never seem to get it to work. I made a lobby, selected terrorist hunt, and chose LAN. Tried to get my friend to join but it says no games found.


I tried to join his as well and same result.. Does anyone know what the problem could be? does it matter if you're in the middle of a game already? can other people join? or do I have to be in the launch screen where I choose a map or something?


please help, this games a lot of fun but I used to be able to play it just fine.

I port forwarded but my friend still can't join.

You don't. You LOGIN, Then choose Terrorist Hunt, Host a COOP match, then ONLINE. Set you game settings, password, map then LAUNCH.
Your buddy can join as soon as your game shows up in the list of games. Surprisingly there's quite a few people still hosting on weekends.
I don't have any specific ports forwarded or any of that. I do have UPNP enabled in the router. DMZ is NOT enabled.

I thought they shut down the servers for this game though so there was no point in making an account?
