Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

Xbox One Controller Support
Doesn't work with an Xbox One controller, even with the Xbox 360 controller option turned on.

I looked a few pages back and found a guy by the name of mathewmcdonald25 posted this.

"found the solution works like a charm! ...............This should work for any wired gamepad.
Open the file Steam>SteamApps>common>Rainbow Six Vegas 2>KellerGame>Config>PCKellerJoystics
You'll need to change the VID and PID of any of the "[Joystick]"s to match your controller
There's a program you can download that will tell you your controller's VID and PID at http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html (download is at the bottom of the page)
run that program, find your controller, scroll over to the VID and PID
the program shows them in hexadecimal so you need to convert them
I got an excel spreadsheet that does it at http://www.binaryhexconverter.com/hex-to-decimal-converter but I believe google will do it too
Lastly, input your converted VID and PID values into the PCKellerJoysticks file, and make sure to add "UseXInput=True" at the bottom of whichever [Joystick] you chose to use.
If RSV2 was open while you were changing the IDs you'll have to restart it, but after restarting you should be able to turn your controller on in the settings."

I might try it my it myself as I have a few third party controllers as well as a first party wireless controller that won't work with this game. I will try to report back when I do.

Works fine with the 360 too
hope this helps

Changing the product ID to 767 or the other one and vendor ID 1118 didn't work.
One of the product ID's just had really weird controls. The other didn't work at all.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I tried this yesterday and even though I found out my PID was 746, I still could not for the life of me get my official Xbox One (bluetooth version) to work on my PC for this or Vegas 1.

The Bluetooth part is unknown to me, I use a wired controller. It works fine as well. Perhaps someone might have a solution to your problem?

I tried both wired and bluetooth connection with my Xbox One (official bluetooth version). I know the earlier Xbox One controllers had a propriety wireless connection and a few years later they came out with one that had a built in bluetooth. Some of my older games work fine when I plug in the micro USB cable for a direct connection but Vegas 1 and 2 are a mystery to me on how to set them up for the official Xbox One bluetooth controllers.

I've tried everything, but when I go to use my controller, it doesn't do anything. Not even after rapid clicking on the "USE XBOX 360 CONTROLLER FOR WINDOWS" in the options gets it to change over. Not sure what I'm doing wrong guys.

Tested "solution" with Xbox Elite 2, did NOT work.
