Is every game of Sawayama Solitaire winnable?

I know at least not every game of truly random Klondike is winnable, so I was wondering if the same is the case for Sawayama?

And I guess same question for Kabufuda, though I feel like even the ones that are winnable are unwinnable for me lol

Honestly I don't think every game is winnable (both Sawayama and Kabufuda), but I've had many situations where I thought the round was lost, then I saw a possible move and went on to win. So don't give up too quickly.

Sawayama is pretty much the same as a random game of Klondike in my experience so far - there are some deals that are just straight-up unwinnable, even if you've made every optimum move possible. Not being able to flip the deck and run through it again, the lack of an undo function, and the automatic play of cards to the foundation definitely make it a bit more difficult.

As far as I can tell, it only auto-play cards that cannot have a card played to it. And you can manually play them with a double click as well (sometimes this is necessary to clear more cards).

Can we truly not reshuffle or redraw the deck? It's too restrictive. Quite often many cards I need are buried just under the top one or two and inaccessible.

You're supposed to identify such cards to the best of your ability, and work towards them. For instance at the start you might see a lot of 6/7/8 cards with 9/10s being buried deep into the tall stacks, you know you have to actively work on getting to those. Same with seeing some cards are missing and must be in the draw pile. I can win most hands of Sawayama without a whole lot of effort. It's Kabafuda that's actually challenging, and someone wrote a solver for that one proving 99.98% of Hard deals are winnable and 90.59% of Expert ones.

Interesting point someone in that thread brought up about Sawayama, it explicitly filters out certain hands based on Ace positions being too much of a problem.
