Can't Change Resolution
So when I start the game its just in a small window and when I try to change the resolution all the options are just grayed out .. its also showing that it's in fullscreen mode. I've tried re-downloading and its still all grayed out. Any suggestions? Just bought this game and really didn't want to play in a tiny window.

Maybe try going off fullscreen and then set the resolution?

Thus far what I've done is play the game in a maximized window. It removes a bit from the immersion but the atmosphere of the levels make up for it. Make sure to leave fullscreen mode first though.

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Backrooms_Escape\Saved\Config\Windows\GameUserSettings.ini

you can change custom resolution there, and even put a custom fps cap and internal resolution :D

It looks like this game has issues with HiDPI displays (for example, a 27 inch 4K monitor would have tiny text at 100% scale, so the default on Windows 10/11 is to scale to 150%). This causes the "full screen" of this game to not actually fill the screen.

The following needs to be done in Windows (e.g. via File Explorer)

Find the ETB.exe executable (by default, "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Enter The Backrooms\ETB.exe"),

Then, right-click on the ETB.exe file, choose "Properties", click the "Compatibility" tab.

Then on the Compatibility tab, click the "Change high DPI settings" button near the bottom.

In the "High DPI scaling override" section, tick the "Override high DPI scaling behaviour" box and choose for scaling performed by "System".

The next time you launch the game, it should fill the screen (assuming you've selected Full Screen in-game).
