You often read criticism of AI from big software houses after investing millions of dollars in development, we are still a very small Indie team of 3 people of which only one writes source code.
You don't just push a button to put in a feature, and often before putting in something that doesn't work as you hope or for which you can't give the support you need, it is better to wait. TrackDayR is growing a lot and I am sure it will grow more, a large fanbase is being created, and what I don't want is for “factions” to be created of those who prefer one type of discipline over those who prefer another. We are a project that was certainly born with asphalt bikes but has been able to listen to the community and create something unique.
cheers
For example, things like the trees yal use are the only really evidence that screams indie game at this point. I wonder if it would be possible to code a "landclass" to cover an area for trees is possible vs. populating them as individual objects is possible for optimization?
But proper modern day gaming 3D modeled trees, even animated would be sick.
They currently have 303 concurrent players on a Sunday, pretty impressive. I'm sure a lot of them are just popping wheelies right now, but still cool.
If you want unrealistic physics and just want to race AI, any crappy Milestone game or the MXvsATV series may be what you are looking for.
