Let me know if removing or building a second one fixes it. Happy to test on my older city with multiples already built.
Didn't quite seem to make a difference.
I circumvented the problem by removing both and voila, even across the map at a ridiculous length the trucks are making the trip.
This also messes with me because it's like point do you use trains if trucks go everywhere? I haven't built a single train yet.... that bad?!
You can link multiple collection centres to one distribution centre, without a problem. The other way around, one collection can also link to multiple distribution centres without a problem.
To the OP.
This sounds like your collection centre (s) were never feeding your distribution centre to start with.
A distribution centre placed on its own will be feeded by individual mines/factories, without the need of a collection centre.
Looks like there was a problem with the connection of your collection centre(s) to the main road network. Your mines can reach your distribution centre without a problem, and like you write here, after deleting the collection centres it works all right.
Try the next (based on my own observation and use of collection/distribution centres).
First reintroduce your distribution centre, without a collection centre. The output of your mines should now be redirected through that distribution centre (at least the surplus of a mine should be sent to the distribution centre).
If that works, reintroduce the first collection centre and connect it to the distribution centre.
If all road connection are correct, both the free mines (not under the control of the collection centre) and the collection centre will send ore to the distribution centre.
What you probably will see happening is that a free mine first fill up its internal buffer.
After that it will try to help to fill up the collection centre with its surplus.
If both internal buffer and the collection centre are filed, it will start sending ore directly to factories that are not under the control of the distribution centre.
If those internal factory buffers are all also filled, it starts feeding the distribution centre.
