On my next build I'm going to build up to red science before building the the spaceship facility. That's the goal anyways, who knows if I'll be able to do it. lol
Just to understand... How big is your city population? Do you create all buildings into district and one by one tell them don't deliver to space repair? take 300 home appliance as example... I found that not just a few additional buildings , at least like 10 extra buildings, 10 additional buildings going to need additional other buildings say about 20.. additional other buildings going to need yet additional buildings 10, it spike up the electricity 5 additional solar panels and cause increase traffic 2x in certain areas.
And after all these havoc , I get 1 additional unit produced... Feel like much more easier to just build a... recycle center?? I am not sure if I play the game right
That is a nice one, in that case spaceship seems to be a late game thing... But it takes a long time with so many modules feel like we should start earlier.
My play trought has similarities like "Maniac max" for city bloks. Small 5K city bloks totally seperated each others. Supply chain not look the road length, isntead AI look the supply/demand buildings on the fly range so lesser range get the items first far ones gets next time till the farest.
At the beginnig I build totally temporary city with max 3 home level. all industry works for science. When I research all till red science stop there. Delete all science chain cause I need all population to build and feed city blocks. Till science finished you hav a lot of time to spend so use it to design your city block but not put any buildind there just roads. Also design city feeding chain area with roads.
Use pipes when ever possible, don't worry long pipes. Put tanks as buffers especially near nuclear rectors. I build seperate liquid sides for each pipe network and supply from there all map.
I give up to use gondolas/trains atleast for now till fixes come so not use them. Districs only use them to see and watch production numbers, not for seperate chains.
For the end game you need all that extra items come from ship/rcylecenter/soil enrichment and also from industrial robots / High tech worrk shop but be carefull with them casue if these go down all supply goes wrong quckly.
For now this is my experience, have fun to play and inform us about your playthorugh
Maybe 5 rows is too large to deliver goods and totally split out not connected city is a great idea I should try next. Coz a bit lazy to draw the district and layout keep changing
When it comes to the layout, I have tried one single row for a specific building, I've tried putting buildings in the center and having home groups spread around it like a clock face (think 12 - North, 3 - East, 6 - South, 9 - Weset), and I've also tried making districts. Honestly, I'm not sure which one i like the most. My current game is mostly using the single row. It worked really well early game but mid game was rough, and late game has become brutal at times. Prob. more user error when setting up roads. lol.
I would just build a few extra buildings, use your district menu to highlight your buildings, and have them deliver the resources you're needing for the repairs go there for a few minutes. I do this as well. Just have to watch how long you have them delivering so your other buildings/pop doesn't get neglected.
EDIT: Also keep in mind that if you have extra buildings, those buildings will build up a storage backlog. So when the demand increases with the spaceship, it will pull from those buildings as well as your older ones. A good example of this is when you just finished researching something, watch your blue and green science buildings. I also wait for each of these buildings to be fully stocked before researching something new. Hope this all helps!
