Where Is Methane On A Random Map?

I can't find it.

I tried putting them anywhere like an oil well. It says I am not on a methane resource. So, I tried mousing over every map feature I could find, but nothing showed up.

I placed a methane drill in the dark area where you find aluminum ore. It no longer complains about not being on a resource, but then it complains about no power, even when there is a solar array in the vicinity and the methane drill is connected via power poles.

Does methane work on a random map at all?

I am not sure if that feature exists on every random map. I had a large canyon that across the map. My Methane spots were down there, usually surrounded by some fauna. They can be hard to spot sometimes

Only made one random map, but yeah, it was in the gorge. I saw some streamer getting it the same way. In both cases there wasn't a really visible marking, but it was there.
