PC Controller...Any Advice?
So I am finally starting these games after years of wanting to, and of course my Logitech PC controller does not even register in the game. Tried all my USB ports, etc. and nothing. I have a Logitech Gamepad F310. It has worked on every other game I've tried. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated as this is a controller game, not a keyboard game. :)

Was just about to ask if the 360 controller would work for the pc version... Cheers!

mine's a logitech dual action. and it works just fine, at least with ac1. the only thing that's a bit annoying is, for example, if the game (tutorials mostly) asks that you press key 0, it really means key 1 on the actual pad.

X360 Controllers are 100% windows compatible. If its a wired one, just plug it and play (WinXP will need a driver). Wireless are compatible too, but require wireless receiver which being sold separately and its not very cheap.

Strange I just got a F310 and the game recognized it. Maybe you have the switch on the back flipped to the wrong side?

I have the exact same controller and it works fine. Make sure you go into options in-game and change the input control from keyboard/mouse to the gamepad you're using. It should show up as a selection.

don't like Xbox or Microsoft but ... the Xbox 260 controller is just perfect for gaming (like AC serie)

in options you can configure every button...and yes...logitech f310 works fine with the game...maybe you will need a little button configuration...i couldnt look around with the default settings for example...(as far as i played the ac serie all games work fine with logitech f310 or any other pad that looks like ps3 pad...if you prefer this design more than xbox controller ;))

You can find a reletively cheap xbox 360 controller on amazon for a little over $20 if you're willing to purchase it. As well as using it fo other games that can't or are stubborn to use your f310.

Do you happen to have one of those Microsoft Webcams (MS Lifecam HDxxx or something)? if yes - try unplugging the webcam, plug your controller back in, start the game, see if its gonna work w/o webcam. Also, x360 controllers require stable usb power, so I'd recommend using self-powered usb hub.

Get the program MotionInJoy, select the 360 emulation, use any controller you like. Have fun.

For me it only works if I have the controller plugged in BEFORE I boot the game. If I plugged it in after the game has launched, "generic USB joystick" does not appear in the control input options and I have to kill the program and restart it. I imagine that this is the reason why your non-xbox controller is not working. I have a generic Gigaware controller and playing on Windows 7.

EDIT: Also I have to go into the options and change the controls to the controller EVERY time I open the program, it does not seem to remember if you used a generic controller last.

A note on XBOX 360 controllers: AC1 has trouble recognising the triggers of wireless pads. Wired controllers work fine.

Buy xbox360 WIRED controller. It costs like $30.. you'll never have a problem again.
