I tried it but still doing the same thing
In its current state this game is unplayable. Going offline eliminates the option to stream it, or have any other internet dependant apps eg discord.
As always, Ubicrap. Unlikely this issue will ever get fixed, Ubisoft don't care.
UBI is laughing all the way to the bank!
lmao what bank, they're not making bank off a 15 year old game nobody plays.
"♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" "ubicrap" are you guys two years old or do you just act like you are. seriously this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ embarrassing and you should be ashamed.
I follow the steps but still crashing huhu :(
We are living in the 'AGE of Gaffones'.
2025 = 1984!

And, if need be, a video tutorial I whipped up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LfrG7Fhmto
*I take no credit for coming up with this fix, only for the tutorial vid*
Turning off the internet causes the attempt to fail instantly, so no freezes.
I was starting to play this today after a decade since the last time... and hit this problem.
Utterly stupid, and needs to be fixed.
Yeah... Same here, it has been at least 10 years since I played this myself. I was super excited.... What a let down indeed.... Common Ubisoft, get on this.
This guide comes from the other thread in this subforum about the freezing bug. Follow these steps and you won't have to turn off your internet just to be able to play the game. This will force the game to connect to your localhost IP address instead of a DRM server that's been dead for a decade. We've all been doing it and it's running fine. Spread the word.
