To fix it, you have to go to your GPU's control panel and manually limit the FPS for this game to 60.
BTW, if you plan to play AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations in the future, keep in mind that these 3 games do not support >60 FPS either. In AC2, there will be a minor bug in the flying machine sequence. In AC Brotherhood, an initial defence section becomes very difficult, the flying machine becomes uncontrollable, an end game event will not trigger, hard-locking your game progress (until low FPS is achieved). In AC Revelations, your game will always crash after assassinating a story target.
Thanks for sharing these tips already. Hope it helps you @Volkner. Feel free to let us know :)

Thank you, sir. That fixed it.
Yes, that solved it.
Great game, btw. Thanks for making it.
Glad to hear it Volkner, you know where we are if there's ever anything more you need help with!

You should still hit an air wall mid-jump, preventing you from jumping very far, and also prevent you from collecting the infamous flag in the Kingdom ruins.
If you don't experience any of these at 144 FPS, then you are either very lucky or haven't encountered any bugged hay stacks yet.
Enjoy your game nonetheless.
Hey ExplodingWater,
As much as higher FPS' are known to cause issues, it's not always guaranteed, glad to hear it's working for you!
