Open a chess

Hi, i tried to look for information before asking here. I try to open the chess in this game but if doesnt work. I tried all buttons i could use but to no avail. Can someone tell me how to do it

Chess? Do you mean chests?

Chests were first introduced in Assassin's Creed 2, where the monetary system and the ability to pick up weapons became a thing.

The only appearance chests have in AC1 is that Templar knights are often guarding them, which can be a useful indication to check if you have killed the local one. These cannot be opened, and even if they could, they'd be empty.
