Stuck on a tower (AC1-KBM controls)
I've come back to this game on the PC after a long hiatus and have gotten stuck in the stupidest of places. I have moved onto the lowest wall of a tower, attempting to climb it and cannot move at all. I'm using KBM for controls. The only control that does anything is Eagle Vision. High/Low Profile just highlights the words "eagle vision". "R" is mapped to "HEAD" so activates eagle vision. EDSF are my movement controls and do nothing at all. "W" is mapped to "HAND" and does nothing. I love the sequels to this game, on the PS4 (Black Flag, Liberation, Unity, Syndicate, & Origins), but I'm getting very frustrated with the keyboard/mouse control scheme on the PC version of the original. Can someone please help me figure this out?

Damn, your control scheme is f*cked up. By default the controls are:

1) Movement - WASD. If you're stuck, there's possibly another route to the top of the tower.

2) HIGH PROFILE - Right Mouse Button (Enables running/parkour)

3) EMPTY HAND - Shift. If you're stuck on a wall, this button makes you drop from the wall and also catch ledge.

4) LEGS - Space (Jump) Also try pressing that in High Profile. This should make you jump backwards from the wall.

I use EDSF instead of WASD because it' more natural for a touch typist to place the forefinger of the left hand on the F key instead of the D key . It's worked for me in every other game (I use the A key for action most games and it seems the "LOCK-ON" is being used to interact with people, so I use A for LOCK-ON). I still have the shift key as the empty hand key (easily reachable with the left pinky), the space bar as the jump key (LEGS) and the right mouse for HIGH PROFILE.

The problem where I was stuck was that nothing would move me from that wall, not the up, not the jump, not the EMPTY HAND. I ended up exiting and reloading my last save point (and that's another issue, save points... LOL).

The control scheme is still wonky as hell, but I'm beginning to get used to it, except for the time that I did a leap of faith and bounced off the top of the haystock.

Thanks for your quick response.
