It's a shame, but I defenitely see it being an issue if crossplay is in mind
I understand if that ist too complicated to implement, but with no workshop i hope that Part 2 will have more levels than Part 1. Don´t get me wrong, i know that is a lot of work too. But mostly i think of more variants of already introduced elements, not completely new mechanics.
In Part 1 there were new mechanics and then maybe a second level with that mechanic and then the next complete new one. That always felt a little too rushed through that elements. I am thinking of introducing a new element (like the shields or the rope or the ghost and all the other really funny ideas) and then adding a few more levels for each element, slightly inceasing in difficulty and/or complexity. Some levels could be simply be a little bit bigger/longer also.
In the last segment of Part 1 a few mechanics came back, that was fun, but overall it felt too short.
Without workshop i really hope for more levels, Pico Park was so much fun, being too short was the biggest problem for many players.
Understandable, thanks for the update! I'd like to piggyback off this reply:
Big +1 to including lots more levels (even very similar ones) if we can't make our own! Maybe you could even crowdsource much of the work in creating such variants - seems like you've got some enthusiastic potential map makers following.
I hope this means Pico Park 2 will be a thing soon, hopefully with Linux support and a level editor.
Wait a little longer.
