Textile mills not producing

I generally avoided textile mills because they never seemed to work for me. But now I kinda need linen, and the mills seem absolutely useless.

On paper, they're great. 4 linen every two days comes out to some 700+ linen per year, which means that as long as I can keep it supplied one mill should be plenty.

But I've got mine close to their source--one is literally four spaces from the flax in storage--and they're each going at less than 300 each. Adding a third employee didn't seem to make any difference.

Is there something I'm missing?

You're basing your number on 100% work time, that's never going to happen. Is there food/water close to the mill? Workers do rest, go get food/drink, etc. The output does seem a little low though.
